The star has handed over the entirety of his £25,000 honor winnings to the Music Venues Trust, which operates to protect the United Kingdom's independent concert spaces.

Fender was given the award on October 16 as his latest record his work was named the outstanding release of the past year.

The musician has opted to donate the funds to the MVT, in acknowledgment of the essential function small stages had in his early career.

"I couldn't be pursuing my current career if it wasn't for all the shows I did around the area, and elsewhere, when I was just getting going," stated the artist. "These spaces are renowned, but they are struggling."

Beginning in 2023, more than 150 of these spaces have shut down – approximately one-sixth of the whole industry in the UK.

Recently, top acts such as Pulp, the group Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Sheeran have all aided the trust in its attempts to support the industry, by adding a small levy to their ticket prices, which supports local stages.

He also participated, generating over £100k on his recent tour to support 38 local spots across Britain.

The money supported spaces that were confronting potential shutdown due to challenges arising from floods, blazes and personal losses, as well as permit problems, conflicts and neighbor objections.

Additional spaces received monetary aid in upgrading infrastructure and gear that positively impacted performers and fans.

"The idea that revenue from shows in large arenas helps the independent spots, where it kicks off for musicians like me, is just sensible," Fender has stated.

That year, artist Ms Dynamite split her award among a few organizations, like the children's charity and a Sickle Cell charity.

"Additionally, I contributed a £1,000 to the center, to their gymnastics program, because I practiced gymnastics when I was a child and they lacked updated gear," the artist shared with outlets.

Two years ago, they contributed their winnings to the local youth club that nurtured their band, alongside other local music groups.

Also the 1994 recipients the group donated their winnings to a multiple sclerosis charity after a friend was found to have the condition.

"Receiving the award was ample," remarked artist Small. "The prize was the extra but we didn't require the cherry, because we had the honor. So our winning affected somebody else's life."

In the past week, the MVT shared it had saved a couple of grassroots venues in the South East, by transferring them to local control.

The first in the city and the second in that location were purchased under the public acquisition initiative, which is supported by a national body and supporters who acquire "shares" in the venues.
